Billy's Blog
Billy here....you know the most hardworking, best looking kelpie dog at Lamington Terrace Veterinary Surgery.....I've been quite busy in the last couple of weeks welcoming 2 new staff members to the team.
Amy Collins is our new nurse. She has returned to vet nursing after some time off to have her first baby.
Dr Mike Jensen is our new vet. He has 17 years experience and will be joining my boss Dr Leisa in both consulting and surgical duties. Dr Mike's special interests include orthopaedic surgery.
My job is to train both Mike and Amy to ensure that they remember to accidentally drop some treats on the floor so I can practice my vacuuming!

I've spent the last few weeks laughing at Sir Claude with his Easter basket design clip -- that cat! He thinks he's soooo gorgeous! I do laugh at him from a distance though, otherwise he swipes me!
We are all gearing up for our RSPCA Million Paws Walk on May 16. The merchandise has arrived at the clinic so if you'd like to get in early, come in and have a look - the doggy bandanas are cute. This year there are singlet tops, T shirts, Hoodies and dog leads. All funds go to RSPCA. There will be a "warm up aerobics" session before our walk this year for those of you who are keen. I usually dress up just for the walk - last year my Dad was in a dog suit - he looked ridiculous! Hope all you dogs can come and join us and bring your 2 legged pals - it's a great morning out!
Wednesday 5th May
Only 10 days to go till Million Paws Walk. Everyone here has been busy organising raffle prizes - there's some great stuff.
Guess the number of treats in the jar - if you get it right, you win the jar of treats! Raffle tickets are also for sale now as well as great MPW shirts and hats.
PS - It's my birthday next Wednesday - I'll be 13 years young!
WEDNESDAY 12TH MAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Today is my 13th birthday. It's a beautiful day so I plan on lounging around out on the deck in the sun, coming in for a pat every now and then and enjoying my birthday dinner at 6pm (sharp!) Even though I'm 13 and definately at "senior" status, I'm still referred to as Billy the Kid! Sometimes I just don't understand these humans! See you all at Million Paws Walk this Sunday! Billy

Million Paws Walk was fun! I particularly liked the "warm up aerobics" with Matt from Fatburners. I got to lead off the pack on the Walk with my Dad again this year but we were quickly overtaken by some very energetic walkers! We raised lots of money for RSPCA which is a great cause - they help out those not as lucky (spoilt) as me.
We're heading into winter now with the cold mornings arriving and my ol' joints start to get a little stiff. The crew at the clinic have some great information for helping your older 4 legged companions to be comfortable through the winter. Just ask us.

Our clinic in Nambour has a great winter promo happening at the moment. Just buy any bag of food from the Hills senior or prescription senior range and get a free snuggly sleeping bag. As you can see in the photo, I love mine. Hurry, there's only limited stocks of free sleeping bags
