Even though it is still cool, please be on the alert for paralysis ticks on your pets. If you are not using an effective tick preventative then you need to start now! We have seen several cases of tick paralysis already and several other clients have told us they are finding ticks on their pets. Often we become a little complacent over winter with tick prevention and can get caught out.

We recommend thorough daily tick searches with extra care to check in ears, between toes, around lips and eyelids. We also recommend the use of an effective tick control product such as Frontline or Advantix or tick collars. Remember the topical spot on products need to be applied fortnightly and remember that Advantix and tick collars will kill you cat so do not use them on cats.
