1. Do not feed your pet after 6pm the night prior to surgery. Water can be provided during the night.

2. Your pet must be admitted to the practice at the specified time on the morning of the scheduled surgery to ensure adequate preparation time. Please allow approximately 15-20 minutes to admit your pet on the morning of surgery.

3. Ensure your pet is clean, hydrobathing can be organised at the practice the day prior to surgery.

4. Bring your pet to the practice suitably restrained ie. cats in cages and dogs on leads.

5. Decide if you wish for pre anaesthetic blood testing to be performed, further information is provided in this pack. This can be done on the morning of surgery.

6. Consider having your pet micro chipped, a discount applies if this is done at the time of desexing.

7. A surgery consent form will need to be signed by a person 18 years or older upon admission to the practice.

8. Organise for yourself or a family member to telephone the practice after 2pm for a discharge time.

9. Prepare a quiet, comfortable place for your pet to recover at home.
