Do not feed your pet after 6pm the night prior to surgery. Water can be provided during the night.
Your pet must be admitted to the practice between 8 and 8.30am the morning of the scheduled surgery to ensure adequate preparation time.
Ensure your pet is clean, hydrobathing can be organised at the practice the day prior to surgery.
Bring your pet to the practice suitably restrained ie. cats in cages and dogs on leads.
We recommend pre-anaesthetic blood testing for all surgical patients. Further information is provided on this site in the section titled "Anaesthesia”. This blood sample can be taken on the morning of surgery and the test performed here prior to your pet's anaesthetic.
Consider having your pet micro chipped, a discount applies if this is done at the time of desexing.
A surgery consent form will need to be signed by a person 18 years or older upon admission to the practice.
Organise for yourself or a family member to telephone the practice after 2pm for a discharge time.
Prepare a quiet, comfortable place for your pet to recover at home.
